A COMPETITIVE two-all draw at Cwmbran Celtic secured another valuable point for Barry Town on Saturday afternoon in the Welsh League Division Two.

Gavin Chesterfield's side, in all green, seized the lead as early as the second minute; midfielder Jamie Bradford scoring directly from a corner kick to break the deadlock in somewhat surreal fashion.

Defender Ryan Evans then made it 2-0 with only seven minutes played, heading home another of Bradford's corners and giving the Town what appeared to be a comfortable advantage.

However, the Gwent outfit, relegated from Division One in the summer, would reduce the arrears through Luke Lewis in the 21st minute; and the spirited Celtic completed their comeback on the hour through Owen Cook to set up an evenly-poised closing third.

Both sides had chances to go on and win the match; however, each would have to be satisfied with a draw, ahead of the return match between them at Jenner Park on Tuesday, March 28 at 7.45pm.

The result leaves leaders Barry on 58 points with eight league fixtures remaining and five of them at home.

This Saturday, the Town travel to third-placed Aberbargoed Buds at 2pm for what is likely to be one of their toughest tests of the season.
