Tynewydd FC 8 Barry Albion 2

TYNEWYDD booked their place in the Supporters Cup Semi Finals with an 8-2 demolition job over Barry Albion.

Tynny started excellently and were first to every ball not giving Albion time to settle on anything, this paid dividends immediately as Andrew Colburn won the ball in the opposition half and released Lloyd Union who calmly slotted home from 10 yards out.

The lead was soon doubled when Lewis Union dispatched a penalty after the opposition defender had handled in the box.

The captain then doubled his tally and made it 3-0 with arguably the goal of the game when a throw in was expertly cushioned off Lloyd Unions chest right into Lewis's path who bent a ball into the side netting from 25 yards out.

Albion snatched a goal back midway through the half but this only spurred Tynny on and soon after Andrew Colburn got the goal his hard work deserved when he arrowed in a shot from outside the box to make it 4-1.

Lewis Union completed his first half hat-trick when he glided past three Albion players with a mazy run and clipped the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box to round off the half’s scoring at 5-1.

Tynny started the second half as the first and soon had another penalty after Lloyd Unions quick footwork resulted in him being brought down in the box; Lewis made no mistake from 12 yards out to grab his fourth of the game.

Albion managed to pull another goal back after a scramble in the box from a free kick was turned in from a yard out.

Tynny once again answered straight back when Spencer Bennett broke the offside trap with a ball over the top from Jammo and running clean through on goal unselfishly squared the ball to Ross Smith who tapped into an empty net.

Jodie Shepherd rounded the scoring off after a low cross into the box allowed him to side foot in from close range.

Man of the Match could have gone to any number of players; Dumbleton in goal for his excellent concentration throughout and one amazing save at 2-0, Colburns industrious work rate which really set the tempo for the game and victory, Lewis Union for his four goals and all round display but it went in the end to Lloyd Union who started the scoring and was involved in nearly everything good the Tynny did attacking wise and was a constant threat all day.

Tynny now look to make it three Supporters Finals in three straight years but know this will be tough as they are huge underdogs with the sides remaining in the competition, although it's worth noting they were massive underdogs too when they won the final two years ago beating a previously unbeaten team of 18 months.

One thing is for sure if they play anything like Saturday they'll give any team a run for their money.
