Barry Town United Under-12s 2 v 2 Dinas Powys Wolves Under-12s

THE long awaited encounter between these two teams finally took place after countless postponements.

Dinas Powys Wolves Under-12s started the brighter team, striking the bar in the opening ten minutes before the home side came close to scoring, shooting wide with the goal gaping.

Taking advantage of the slope and wind, Dinas had the better of the first 30 minutes and were rewarded with a goal straight from a corner from Kyle Booker.

At the break leading one-nil it was key the visitors got off to a bright start and Callum Hewitson was fast to react to a mix up in the Barry defence latching on to a poor pass and finishing in style.

The home side pressed forward in numbers looking to get back into the game and following a scramble in the box fired home from close range. Dinas pushed to get the third and thought they had but Bayley Harewoods goal was unkindly ruled offside as he seemed to time his run very well.

With 10 minutes remaining the game was getting tense as Barry pressed high and were awarded a free kick that they managed to react to faster than the visitors after a great save from Dylan Morris.

The game finished 2-2 and certainly the hosts proved a good test for the visitors.
