Vale ladies 4 - 3 Penybont ladies

VALE Ladies entertained Penybont who are the current league leaders at Barry in what proved to be an extremely entertaining game but Vale were well worth the win due to an all round very competent display.

The game started with Vale on top and after 10 minutes an excellent passing move saw Emily Hill break in from the left and place a superb shot past the Penybont keeper to give Vale the lead after 12 minutes.

The next 10 minutes was very even but Vale gave away a free kick and Penybont equalised with a superb free kick which flew into the top corner of the net giving Emily Mortimer in the Vale goal no chance.

The Vale then took control of the game but a magnificent Penybont passing movement saw a great shot from over 30 yards fly into the top corner of the net to give them a 2 - 1 lead.

The Vale then took total control with the back four of Shanice Donovan, Shaniz Masani, Niamh Teague and Lou Attanassio blocking out any attacks from the opposing attacks.

Vale then had a fine spell of pressure and after a long spell saw a corner converted by Chloe Jones to make the scores level and bring the scores equal at half time.

The second half started with Vale in total control and with Chloe Jones and Charlene Hewings controlling the midfield a brilliant movement saw Jess Thompson hit an unstoppable shot to give the lead.

Continued pressure by Vale gave the Penybont defence a difficult 10 minutes and a lovely movement saw the ball out to Emily Hill on the right hand side who beat the keeper with a fine shot.

Vale then hit the woodwork three times before Penybont scored with a long overhead ball giving the Vale defence an impossible chance to prevent a third goal which hit the net from 30 yards giving Emily Mortimore in the Vale goal no chance.

The game ended with a victory for Vale and secured one of the best performances of the season for this very young side playing against the very best in South Wales. Congratulations to Chloe Jones who was player of the match and also to Emily Mortimer for her magnificent performance in goal for the Vale.

Millie Jones, Robyn Hall and Dannielle Kerslake all contributed to this magnificent performance and look forward to a game at Caerphilly next week to clinch the double and continue to climb the table.
