BARRY Town United's scheduled match versus AFC Llanwern due to be played last Saturday fell foul of the weather and was postponed.

With the heavens opening, a local referee was called to assess the pitch and unfortunately, due to over two inches of standing water in parts, the decision was made to call the game off.

The flooding was so severe and unlikely to drain naturally, that the under 19s fixture the following day was also abandoned too. Both games will be rescheduled shortly.

Not since the 1960s, and that due largely to snow and ice, has the club suffered so many postponements which has left the poor old secretary with a lengthy list of fixtures to rearrange.

United are, weather permitting, travelling to Undy this weekend, kick off 2 pm, and are due to entertain AFC Llwydcoed on January 17.

The delayed Christmas draw will take place after that and fans are thanked for their patience over this matter.

Lastly all at the club would like to congratulate midfielder Jamie Bradford and his wife on the safe arrival of their child.
