MMG scored three goals for the fourth game running but lost out to a well-disciplined Cardiff Airport team. MMG new transfer signing Simon Colston started up front for his first game with a recall for Declan Govier in defence and Scott Nelson in goal. For the latter it could not have started much worse.

MMG had a goal kick which Scott unfortunately kicked the ground with the ball rolling to Jordan Underdown who placed the ball into the empty net.

The game remained pretty even with both sides creating chances. MMG had enforced changes with their usual centre half pairing of Dave Allen and Paul Edwards both missing. This meant Lee Galsworthy and man of the match Barrie Coslett playing at the heart of defence with Govier one side and Johnny Martin the other.

MMG equalised through Drew Burniston after a great bit of interplay with Simon Colston, Elliot Cayton, Leon Butler, Andrew Mason and Morgan Rogers were working hard in midfield but for most of the first half the Airport had the slight edge.

The game ebbed and flowed through the first half before the Airport scored their second again threw Underdown. This followed almost immediately, with Drew hitting his second, a stunning free kick. He was a full 30 yards from goal when he struck up and over the wall and leaving the veteran goal keeper Kevin Vaughan stranded.

The second half started much better from MMG and they were for the most part camped in Airports territory. However, Airport always looked dangerous on the break and took the lead against the run of play with another break out goal scored by Kristain Powell. They kept the lead until the 80th minute before new boy Simon Colston followed up a great turn and shot by substitute Mike Evans that Kenny Vaughan could only parry in front of him.

With MMG pushing for the winner they got sucker punched again when a long ball down the left drew both Andrew Mason (who had dropped back to defence) and Lee Galsworthy to the ball. A pin point cross was controlled by Luke Jones before coolly dispatching it under the helpless MMG keeper.

Well played Cardiff Airport and another big up for referee Nick Silver who had a really good game.

MMG would like to thank their sponsor BRT International for their continued support and for the Cwm Talwg for laying on the food.
