IN previous years winners of the Ladies and Men’s Club Competitions have received their awards on the finals day without many members being there, as a result a decision was made early in the season to hold a separate presentation night where all club members would have the opportunity to attend and competition winners would receive their trophy’s on a special night in front of their peers. The presentation night is on this Saturday at BP Club Market Street from 7.30pm.
After a successful outdoor season Romilly Bowling Club can also celebrate retaining their status in the newly revamped CML Division One, winning the Midweek League Munro Cup and lifting the Hugh Meddins Trophy along with successes in the County Finals. The Ladies also had some success winning their division of the evening league eventually securing the bronze position overall.
This year, Romilly’s Charity was in aid of MacMillan Nurses and during the season a horse racing night was held at the Romilly Park Pavilion with a raffle held on the Club’s Open Triples Day. The tremendous generosity from all members and those in attendance on the day helped raise a fantastic £1,000 which will be presented on the night.
