SULLY Sports travelled to CIACS this weekend. With the ground firm and the weather fair, rugby was the winner all the way. Sully Sports rallied together and some enterprising and exciting rugby was played by both sides. But Sully Sports romped home 49-10.

CIACS kicked of and from the receipt Sports showed the intent of the day with coach Gareth Ivory, urging the team to play running rugby. Sports attacked CIACS defence and showed good pace. Only to be stripped of the ball and CIACS to be first on the board.

This only spurred Sports on and some fast flowing rugby followed, with the backs and forwards interlinking well. Man of the Match Matt Phillips went over for the first try. Followed by a storming solo run by Jamie Griffiths and Ben Such following up on lose play. Commanding runs from Captain Jon Blake ensured Sports stayed on the front foot, backed by his back row partners Harry Moyles and John Thomas, who showed his skills with a dainty kick over the top. Alex Szuchnik replaced Mike Angove and the scrums continued to dominate the day. Dai Harris commanded the backs and some darting little runs ensured CIACS had to work hard in defence. Jake Williams continued to impress with his conversions and penalties, leaving the score at halftime 29-5.

With the second half on the way and strong words of patience from the coach, Sports started as they finished. But CIACS weren't there to make up the numbers and rallied well ensuring Sports had to work hard in defence to keep them at bay, on several occasions last ditch defence saved the day, the back three of Damion Huggins, Dave Weston and Tom Dredge, ensured the ball was always returned with interest. Adam Wheeler for Jamie Griffths and Barry Phillips for Jon Blake ensured Sports kept on the front foot. Trys from Jake Williams and Rhys Manford continued to put on the points and ensure the Bonus point was earned, another penalty from Jake Williams confirmed that Sports where enjoying the day and the rugby. Inter linking between the forwards and backs controlled by Rhys Manford ensured the pressure continued. With the pack staying on top and taking CIACS for a walk around the park gave a great platform for the backs to attack.

Unfortunately Sports didn't have it all their own way and CIACS pressured the line for 10 minutes came away with a try.

But from the restart a great take by Sports ensured pressure was applied, CIACS managed to mount another attack but strong defence ensured the score stayed the same. A well worked team try being finished of by Jake Williams and another conversions, confirmed the 49-10 Score for Sully Sports. Great support from the sidelines yet again gave encouragement and hopefully they enjoyed the style of rugby being played.

Anyone wanting to get involved either player, supporter or anything else come along to the Sports ground Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm.
