BARRY Saints kept up their fantastic start to the season with a 6-1 victory over Railway Wanderers.

Barry were ahead after a great corner by David Evans which was superbly headed back by Nathan Williams in to the path of Andrew Wyatt who slammed the ball in to the roof of the net.

Darren Townsend added his name to the scoresheet after some tidy football from the back he was set free to finish well from a tight angle. Townsend grabbed his second after being released by Williams to smartly finish a one on one situation.

Man of the match Rhys Hocking was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet after seeing his dipping 35 yard shot tipped on to the bar. Ashley Ashill got in on the act with a goal after showing great pace out sprinting his marker and showing great composure to slide the ball under the keeper.

Townsend completed his hat trick soon later when goalkeeper Nicky Elston sprayed a pass to the striker near the half way line. Townsend turned and ran at goal and struck a shot from well outside the box which zipped passed the keeper.

Saints were cruising, 5-0 up at half time. The second half started slowly, Saints making chances but never really showing the lethal touch in front of goal. Saints were then reduced to ten men.

Almost immediately Saints conceded. A long cross from the left was headed back across goal and left the striker with an easy header.

Saints struck back with Darren Townsend then added his fourth after beating the last man and finishing his one on one with ease.

Barry Saints now sit six points clear at the top of the table and welcome Vulcan Galaxy next at Wenvoe.
