SUNDAY, September 7, saw the Cadoxton Schools of Taekwondo attend a WOMAA fun competition to raise monies for Diabetes hosted by Mal Johns and Leanne Emmerson.

The event was well supported with competitors from all over the UK in a friendly but competitive manner; there was a category for every competitor from beginners, intermediate, and advanced, also several Welsh and English title bouts taking place on the day.

Fighting for Welsh title was Cody Jacobsen, and competing in a title eliminator was Thea Cunningham, both students took the fights at a week’s notice. The title fights consisted of three, two minute rounds, Cody took his opponent all the way losing by one point in the final minute.

Young Thea Cunningham’s bout was nip and tuck throughout the three rounds, Thea just losing out in the third round by two points. Overall the Cadoxton School had a good day coming away with a total of nine firsts, ten second and eight third places in all categories.
