DURING the beginning of September Rhoose Bowling Club has concluded its bowling season with the Club Competitions Finals and the last of their Club Competitions. After a full day of bowling the following results were achieved. Sue Dance beat Jo Hopkins by 14 shots to five in the Ladies two bowl Singles. Anthony Parsons beat Paul Williams by 15 shots to eight.
Lyn Willmot and Colin Ashdown lost to Hugh Jupp and Geoff Lages in the Men's Pairs by 11 shots to 25.
Anita Shears and Rachel Green beat Dot Gardner and Jo Hopkins in the Ladies' Pairs by 27 shots to 20.
Sue Dance and Terry Martin beat Rachel Green and Phil Jacobs by 26 shots to nine in the Mixed Pairs.
Men's four bowl Singles - Anthony Parsons beat Terry Martin by 21 shots to 10.
Ladies four bowl Singles - Sue Dance beat Rita Craig by 25 shots to 21.
On Sunday, September 21 the Club held its Triples Competition. 21 members took part. After four hours of bowling the final was contested by Ron Craig, Sheila Wood and Paul Williams and Anita Shears, Chas Dance and Mike White. Paul's team was completely outclassed by Mike White's who won by 11 shots to one.
All these Competitions were run competently by the Club's Competition Secretary Anthony Lages.
