ON Saturday Barry Athletic played their final home game of the season against Pontymister and were asked to bowl first and bowled out Pontymister for 212 with Peter Hellyar taking five for 29, Paul Murphy two for 28 and Billy Usswald two for 36 were the highlights of the bowling for Barry.

Barry’s reply was not good as they were bowled out for 120, with David Goodway with 25, Steve Jones 18, Peter Hellyar 14 including a towering straight six off Salman and Captain Gee with 14 not out, Barry finishing in mid table.

The 2nd XI travelled to Pontymister with a scratch side and bowled out Pontymister for 198 after they had been 138 for 0, Captain Ashley Baker taking three for 48; in reply Barry got 201 for four, with Reji 50, Lee Morgan 42 not out and Ashley Baker 35 not out.

This Saturday Barry Athletic Cricket Club have their presentation evening at The Club House from 8.30pm. The AGM will then be held at the same Venue on Friday, September 26, from 7.30pm and all players and members are asked to attend as 2015 is a big year with the club celebrating their 125th anniversary.
