SULLY Sports faced Max Utd in the South Wales Senior League Division One. Sully Sports won 3 – 0.

King George VI stadium was the venue for this Senior League game with Max Utd the hosts entertaining the Sully Sports team looking for league points. The large pitch suited the Sports team and some good football saw Sully doing well with many attacks generally down the right flank but all the possession meant nothing as the finishing touches were not capitalised on.

Kieron Sharratt in the Sully goal was mainly a spectator; in the first half as Max persisted in playing the long ball and packing their defence. Sully missed a golden chance as the normally lethal Lawlor fired passed the post which would have been a reward for the hard work he was putting in.

Assistant manager Ed Jones was still confident that goals would come and Sports took the lead when Alex Long was put through and as he went to shoot a defender brought him down to concede a penalty which Long hammered home. Then Max replied with a great chance which Sharratt saved brilliantly in a one on one situation.

Sports kept plugging away and again and a cross field ball after the introduction of the solid Andrew Townsend lead to a blistering drive from Conner Mcinery into the left hand corner of the net. Once again Max responded and Sharratt was called upon and saved with his feet. A quick ball saw Long put though and this time he beat the keeper for his second goal. Morgan Williams made his debut for Sports but was injured making a timely tackle as Max pressed, Sports were well pleased with the final result against a decent Max Utd team who played their hearts out.
