TYNEWYDD FC played Cadoxton Barry in the Men’s Division One game with the teams drawing 2 all.

Tynewydd FC ended a run of poor results after seeing their side decimated with injuries, holidays and work releated issues as they claimed a 2-2 draw on Saturday.

On a day more akin to the start of June than the start of September both side put in a great deal of effort in the first half without any end product. That was until close to the end of the half when a lovely whipped in free kick into the corridor of uncertanity by Jammo was turned in smartly by Julian Brana to give the Tynny a 1-0 half time lead.

Midway through the 2nd half Caddy Barry not only drew level but snatched the lead after a string of sloppy mistakes were taken advantage of. This spurred the Tynny on and they quickly pulled one back when central defender powerhouse George Pycroft went up for a corner and smashed in a bouncing ball from 12 yards out. In the last 15 both sides had chances to win it, Caddy Barry hitting the bar from 30 yards out and the Tynny somehow missing an open goal with minutes to go. Both sides I think would be happy with a point in well played, well competed, well refereed game.

Man of the Match for the 2nd week running went to Tynny's young back up 'keeper James Dumbleton who in the last few weeks has pulled off numerous quality saves in performances that belie his youthful age.
