MORE than 1000 youngsters from across Wales attended a free sporting event in Cardiff.

Children from Barry were among those that attended the Multisport Festival at NIAC Cardiff Met which had been organised by the charity StreetGames Wales in conjunction with its partners, including Sport Wales and Communities First.

Youngsters aged 12 and up were given the opportunity to take part in 35 different activities which included cage rugby, football goal kicking and zorbing, breakdancing and an army assault course.

StreetGames Wales’s manager, Caro Wild, said “Sport has been proven to have so many positive outcomes for individuals and communities. It was great to see so many partners working together to encourage so many young people to take part in fun physical activity”.

All of the children who attended enjoyed their day.
