BARRY Saints maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 6-3 victory over John Davey Builders.

Saints took the lead with Darren Townsend breaking through one on one after a great pass only to find his shot saved well by the Builders keeper.

Unfortunately, the ball bounced back to the striker and then ricocheted off him and bounced toward the empty goal to break the deadlock. The score was soon level when the Builders continued to force the game and the midfielder slammed a shot home from the edge of the box. Saints restored their lead through Michael Evans who found space after some great work from his teammates to finish well inside the box.

Townsend then added another and his second of the game after some great work beating his marker and firing a shot toward goal which was helped in by the Builders defender. The Builders grabbed their second straight from a corner kick which somehow beat the Saints keeper despite the protests that the ball never crossed the line. Second half and John Davey started the better and was pressing Saints pinning them in their own half only for Saints to respond in typical fashion. Absorbing the pressure and hitting the opposition with a fast counter attack ending with Michael Evans finding space yet again to hit a half volley past the keeper.

David Evans then added his name to the score sheet with a thunderous 30 yard free kick with his powerful effort finding the top right hand corner. Joe Matthews completed the Saints scoring with a direct run from the right hand side and a fizzing low shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the area leaving the keeper no chance. John Davey Builders did manage to have the last laugh with a good headed goal from a great cross. A good win from the Saints despite not playing anywhere near their best.
