THE Wenvoe Castle team of Nick Caulfield, Ryan Cox, Ian Pearcey and Craig Miller secured a fine second-place finish in the weekend's CCV Welsh Handicap Team Championship National Final.
Contested at the Celtic Manor Resort, the Stableford competition was won by Caerphilly Golf Club; whose haul of 93 points on the celebrated Roman Road course was enough to place them a single point clear of Wenvoe and three ahead of third-placed St. Deiniol GC of Bangor.
Teams from across the length and breadth of Wales migrated to Newport to compete in Sunday's event, with Wenvoe having qualified from June's Area Final at Penarth's Glamorganshire Golf Club.
