BARRY ATHLETIC v CADOXTON

PENARTH BELLE VUE v CADOXTON

Cadoxton collected 12 out of 14 points in their Municipal League 4 match at Penarth, with the overall win being set up by a convincing success for the rink skipped by Don Kuhnell.

There was an up and down game until the 12th end for Howard Craven. With the scores level, both fours produced a 6, while the Cadoxton four won six of the final nine ends for victory.

Kelvin Chedgzoy’s rink led 6-5 after seven ends but conceded a 3 on the next and, despite a late flourish, were unable to recover.

With the other rinks complete, John Jones' game became the centre of attention. Trailing 11-14 with five ends left, the Cadoxton boys were back on level terms for the final end and, in a tense finale, they held on to a single for the extra two points.
