Hosts Barry Athletic were successful on all rinks to chalk up a 35-shot win in this Munro Cup clash.

For Cadoxton, Derek Brook, despite a five on the ninth end, was well beaten by Colin Spillane's four. Kelvin Chedgzoy (Cadoxton) was involved in a close tussle with Albert Mintern before two late 3s gave the home side the points. Ivor Robertson’s rink was in contention for most of the game against Brian Whitlock’s four, with the scores level with four ends left which all went in favour of the home side. John Jones (Cadoxton) and Billy Summerell were skips on the fourth rink where the home four stayed ahead after taking an early lead.

Kelvin Chedgzoy’s rink led 6-5 after seven ends but conceded a 3 on the next and, despite a late flourish, were unable to recover.

With the other rinks complete, John Jones' game became the centre of attention. Trailing 11-14 with five ends left, the Cadoxton boys were back on level terms for the final end and, in a tense finale, they held on to a single for the extra two points.
