A WENVOE schoolgirl has won a British Youth Championship silver medal and a chance to represent Wales in fencing.
Twelve-year-old Erin Corcoran started fencing two years ago at the Russell Swords club - based in Cardiff and Newport - where she is coached by Peter Russell and Fran Whalley.
Now, after winning a gold medal at the British Youth Championship qualifiers in February, she has placed second in her category at the British Youth Championships - held at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield on Monday, May 5.
Erin took home the silver medal in the Girls Under 12 Saber competition.
