UNBEATEN at the Cardiff and Vale U11 Netball Championships, the local Red Dragon Juniors qualified as area champions for the Welsh U11 Clubs Championships in Merthyr.

The standard was high, with some extremely talented junior netballers on display, and, after a nervous start, the Red Dragons - comprising girls from across the Vale - produced some strong and determined netball to qualify for the Plate final.

In a tough battle, the final was goal for goal until the final few minutes when the Red Dragons forged ahead to win the title. The shrieks of joy from the girls and their proud parents was a clear indication of an outstanding achievement.

The Red Dragons squad was: Ella (capt), Ffion (vice-capt), Mariella, Ellie, Dora, Hannah, Aimee, Molly, Bethan, Macey, and Alissa.

Welsh Netball scouts were present and, included in their best 20 players of the tournament, were Ella, Georgia, Maisie, Macey and Alissa.
