THE Barry Tennis Club has launched two new sections - mini for four to 10 year olds and junior for those over 11.

Part of the Lawn Tennis Association's National Mini Tennis Month celebration, the initiative involve lots of fun games and activities to develop ball skills as well as offering some informal match play opportunities and improving an individual's knowledge of the sport.

Running every Friday evening from now until the autumn, the mini section is from 4.30-6pm and the juniors meet from 6-8pm.

The first session is free for everyone to see if they enjoy the format and, thereafter, they are £3 for non-members or completely free if individuals sign up as members for the annual bargain price of £22 (minis) and £33 (juniors).

Individuals will recoup their membership fee from the savings made just by attending these sessions, without even factoring in the discounts they can get on professional sessions run by the Vale Tennis Academy. Members also benefit from the opportunity to play in various competitive teams, and use courts free of charge (subject to availability).
