SULLY SPORTS 7

WITH Sully Sports having already wrapped up the First Division title, Saturday's Vale Soccer League clash at St Athan had a decidedly end of season feel.

With several changes to the normal line up and in a relaxed mood, Sports took the lead, after missing a couple of chances, with a well-taken goal from 'Spud' Reid. Getting on top, Sports increased their lead through Mike Sims who pounced on a rebound.

Sports manager Spencer Lamb made changes at half-time, with James Keward, who had run his socks off, being replaced by young Ashley Cottle, who settled in quickly and put Sports further ahead. Ryan Boyles replaced Richard Sims in the Sports goal and showed excellent touches with some decent saves.

Kyle Lewis notched Sports' fourth and the manager, making a rare appearance, helped Callum Lima Jones score his first goal in eight years with a crisp drive.

Ryan Warden showed some neat footwork to beat the 'keeper from 15 yards and Wes Lamb made it seven.

On Saturday, May 10, Sports complete their season against Inter Penarth, while, on the same day, the club's first team meet Grange Albion in the South Wales Senior League Bruty Cup final. The match, which kicks off at 1.30pm, is being staged at the home of Welsh League Division 3 side Bridgend Street in Cardiff.
