Inter Penarth 0-3 Tynewydd FC
Mens Division One
TYNEWYDD FC travelled to Llandough for their penultimate league game of the season looking to gain maximum points and were well worth their 3-0 scoreline.
Tynny were captained for the day by goalkeeper Callum Coleman, playing his last game of the season and in recognition of his solid performances all year. Midway through the first half the Tynny's lions share of possession finally told when a long throw into the box from Pycroft was neatly headed in at close range by Lloyd Union. Ross Smith soon doubled their advantage with a sweetly placed free kick into the corner leaving the 'keeper grasping at thin air.
Into the 2nd half and Tynny's back 5 were dealing with what Penarth had to throw at them, Jodie Shepherd winning everything in the air with James Clissett alongside marshalling the back four of youth and experience, the experience coming from Steven "Stats" Eveleigh in a rare outing at right back. In fairness the Tynny should have put the game to bed earlier with numerous chances wasted but Ross Smith grabbed his second to make it 3-0 late on when he was played in and smashed the ball low into the corner from the edge of the box. Man of the Match went to Jammo for a faultless display at the back and in helping to keep a clean sheet, along with the rest of the back 5.
Squad: C Coleman (c), G Pycroft, J Shepherd, J Clissett, S Eveleigh, Ll Union, A Colburn, L Union, M Hesp, D Miller, R Smith, M Leighton, G Union, L Peterson, P Union.
