THE Rhondda Lifeguard Club based at Cold Knap, are looking to recruit more younger members for the forthcoming summer season.

Young people between the ages of seven to 16 are most welcome to attend, with the only condition being that they must be able to swim at least 50m. Training is every Thursday night starting at 6pm from their Lifeguard Station on Cold Knap Point, by the slipway to Watch Tower Bay. They are having an open evening on Thursday, April 24, with their regular weekly sessions starting the following week on May 1. Parents are most welcome to attend as well.

It has been a busy start to the season for the lifeguard club with six members recently qualifying as 'First Responders' and four others as trainers/assessors for Surf Lifesaving, Wales.

Membership is not just restricted to younger people, with activities such as rescue boat training, lifeguard assessments, etc, covering all ages. If you are interested, come along to one of the sessions.
