IN their build up to the league season, Sully Centurions Cricket Club enjoyed a useful friendly against Ponthir.

Batting first, Centurions slumped to 25 for five before Tom Davies showed some fine early-season form with an excellent 42. On his return to the club from university, Don Chalk supported well, and young Tom Pascoe, with a fine 24, showed that the fine work undertaken by the junior coaches is paying off.

Centurions reached 128 all out and, after an excellent tea provided by Suzanne Sylvester, now in her 49th year in the role, Ponthir moved steadily to a five-wicket win. Emma Davies was among the wicket takers.
