STUDENTS and supporters of the Cadoxton Schools of Taekwon-Do travelled to Cornwall for the first of four WOMAA British Grand Prix tournaments.

The tournament got underway with traditional patterns and, in the advanced category, Bradley Halford took first spot, with Thomas Haysham third. In the adults section, Anita Sheppard was third.

In the beginners' weapon category, Lucia Cunningham took top spot and sister Thea was second. In advanced weapons, Cody Jacobsen, Cian Allen and Thomas Haysham were first, second and third respectively. Anita Sheppard was third in the adult category.

The Cadoxton school also had competitors in all categories - beginners, intermediate and advanced - in the point and continuous sparring competitions.

Bradley Halford and Lucia Cunningham completed doubles by finishing first in both point and continuous sparring, while Thea Cunningham was first in the latter and second in point sparring. Cody Jacobsen was unlucky in the point sparring but went on to take top spot in continuous sparring.

Young Maddison Allen finished second and third in continuous and point sparring respectively, and ever-improving Jessica Blackley showed good timing and kicking ability to take second place in point sparring.

Continually working on their techniques, Jake Quigley and Joel Wells fought their way into second and third places respectively.
