FC PUMAS 2

TYNEWYDD FC 4

WITH these Vale Soccer League sides meeting for the second time in a couple of weeks, Tyneywdd were quickly out of the blocks and took an early lead when Ross Smith's clever movement in the box allowed him to lose his marker and head home.

Smith doubled his tally soon after with an unstoppable shot from 30 yards.

Tynny were in no mood to let up and a long ball from the back found Lewis Union, who unleashed a half volley straight over the 'keeper. Tynny were four up with 35 minutes on the clock after Lloyd Union found Andrew Colburn and he slotted home.

Grabbing a goal back just before half time, Pumas took the momentum into the second half and probably shaded the play and struck again late on.

There was a cameo apperance for Wesley "Bug" Lomax who, after many years with the Tynny, has decided to move to Amsterdam (no not to play for Ajax!) and the boys would like to wish him all the best.

Man of the match was shared by Lewis Union and Colburn.

SULLY SPORTS 0

With Sully going into the game as runaway First Division leaders and needing only a point to win the title, Tynny knew they would be in for tough game, especially with six regulars injured.

Having missed a first-half penalty, Sully started the second period better without creating any chances.

Tynny's clincher came midway through the half when a lofted free kick was cushioned down by Pycroft straight into Rice's path, and he took one touch before slotting the ball into the net.

Tynny held on gamely, with goalkeeper Callum Coleman making an excellent save to deny Sully, who have scored more than 100 goals this season.

Squad: C Coleman, J Brana, J Shepherd, J Clissett (capt), B Jarmain, Ll Union, G Pycroft, G Union, S Rice, D Miller, R Smith, L Peterson and M McCarthy.

This Sunday, April 13, Tynewydd face Island Marine in the Supporters' Cup final at Jenner Park; kick-off 2.15pm. All support is welcome.
