TYNEWYDD FC 4

FC PUMAS 0

GOING into this First Division game on the back of two losses, Vale Soccer League side Tynny, keen to make amends, started with more purpose than in recent games.

With both sides struggling to keep hold of the ball in the strong swirling wind, there was little quality play in the first half, but Tynny managed to go 1-0 up after Ross Smith broke the Pumas' high line and finished coolly. The only other moment of note from the half was returning Tynny 'keeper Callum Coleman's excellent point blank one-on-one save.

With the wind dropping slightly in the second half, Tynny gained control and played the vast majority of the football in the Pumas' half and created plenty of chances for the attackers. However, it was left back Julian Brana who showed the way with a true goal of the season nomination. Picking the ball up deep in his own half, he jinxed past two players, played a one-two with Lloyd Union, cut inside and took on another defender before curling the ball over the 'keeper and into the top corner from 35 yards.

Tynny could and should have put the game to bed after this but wasted chances galore before making the game safe when Andrew Colburn finished off a well-worked team move. Dale Miller grabbed the final goal when he skilfully controlled the ball inside the box before swivelling and smashing a shot into the top corner from12 yards.

Tynny veterans Gareth Union and Steven Eveleigh got into the action late on, although they spent most of the time on the floor from either sliding challenges or falling over.

Man of the match was shared between Brana and Lewis Union but a mention also to Coleman and the back four for another clean sheet.
