BARRY Town United AFC hold a special 'Dydd Dewi Sant Rasus' social event on the evening of St David's Day.

This unique themed race night will be staged at the Sea View on Dock View Road, a short stroll from Barry Docks railway station.

Each race will have a distinctly patriotic flavour and punters are encouraged to wear the red of Wales or even traditional costume, should they wish!

All funds raised from entry, the races and raffle will directly benefit the football club, who are hoping to also have one or two special items to auction.

Tickets for the Saturday, March 1, event are on sale at £3 each (£2.50 for members) - available at all home matches, as well as at the club's weekly lottery draw.

The first race will commence at 8pm, while the Sea View function room's fully-licensed bar will be open throughout the evening.

The 'Dydd Dewi Sants Rasus' event and eight individual races are available to sponsor now; with interested parties welcomed to contact the club via with their requirements.

The entire Barry senior squad and management team will be among those in attendance following their league match at Risca United earlier in the day.
