A UNIQUE sporting opportunity for children aged four to seven is being launched in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Wales and Everton legend Neville Southall , PG10 Coaching and Little Stars have teamed up to provide football and rugby sessions for children to benefit grassroots sport and increase participation and standards in a fun and safe environment.

Running every Monday (6-7pm) at Bryn Hafren School in Barry, the sessions will provide children with the opportunity to join the development centre as they grow older. While developing their ability, balance, co-ordination and speed, children will be introduced to both rugby and football, enjoy coaching and have fun.

Throughout 2014 opportunities will be on offer to play in fun football and rugby day festivals: Sunday, March 23 - Cardiff Arms Park (home of Cardiff Blues); Sunday, April 13 - Scarlets Rugby Indoor Barn, and Sunday, October 26 - Llandarcy Sports Centre (indoor training barn of Swansea FC and Ospreys RFC).

Peter Griffiths, of PG10, said: "The key aim for the sessions and festivals are for children to be introduced to both sports and enjoy themselves. As children grow up they can also be offered the chance to join the weekly development centre, ensuring a clear development pathway.”

Anthony Dunne, of Little Stars, said: “We are delighted to offer parents and children the unique opportunity to learn great new transferrable skills across both football and rugby by expert coaches."
