BARRY Town United went top of the league with a 3-0 win over Tredegar Town at Jenner Park on Tuesday evening.

After a flat first half failed to separate the sides, Lee Baldock powered home a header in the 49th minute to open the scoring for Barry.

Three minutes later, Troy Greening eluded several defenders, capping a fine individual run with a good finish to make it 2-0.

Then, in the 55th minute, Greening struck a fine effort with the outside of his boot, which ricocheted off the post and into the net.

Tredegar, coached by former Barry and Cardiff favourite Cohen Griffith, could offer little response to the six-minute flurry, which saw the Town increase their points haul to 35 for the season.

Tuesday's victory saw Barry climb above Risca United and Llanwern on goal difference, with games in hand on each.

Llanwern were in action on Wednesday night, while Risca will be the next visitors to Jenner Park, on Saturday, December 14 (2pm).
