BARRY flyweight Andrew Selby remains on target for glory at the World Amateur Boxing Championships.
Selby won through to to the semi-finals of the Championships, beating Ilyas Suleimenov via a tight split decision to guarantee a medal.
In Suleimenov’s home country, Selby won the final two rounds after dropping the first to the Kazakhstan favourite.
Selby is now set to make a run at the gold in the competition he claimed silver at in 2011.
The 24-year-old younger brother of British Commonwealth Champion Lee Selby is a two-time European amateur champion and reached the quarter finals of the London 2012 Olympics.
Currently ranked as the number two amateur flyweight in the world, Selby is on an 18-fight winning streak.
