Swim Club stages successful Tri

BARRY Beavers Disabled Swimming Club recently held a Mini Triathlon in what it hopes will become an annual fundraising event. (September 29)
Those who took on the challenge swam 40 lengths of Barry leisure centre’s 25 metre pool, undertook a 10km bike ride and followed it with a 5km run.
First place went to Christopher Economedies with a time of 1hr 23 minutes, second was Patrick Jones in 1hr 33 minutes and third was Linda Rushton in 1hr 37 minutes.
Club patrons Howard and Carole Hamilton donated cups and medals and presented them to all who competed.
Vice chairwoman, secretary and gala coach of the volunteer-run club, Pat Finch said: “We would like to thank everyone who came and helped on the day and made it a success , St Johns Ambulance ATC cadets , also Howard and Carole for their support and all on the subcommittee especially Sarah who put a lot of time into getting everything running smoothly on the day.
“We are looking forward to doing this Triathlon on a yearly event.”
