Comebacks from both sides in eight-goal thriller

FC PUMAS 4
BARRY ATHLETIC 4
THIS Vale Soccer League clash produced two great comebacks.
Unbeaten in two league games and with confidence high, Pumas were looking for another scalp against Barry Athletic B.
Unfit Jones and Gillen were replaced by Barratt and Harris for Pumas who fell behind when Hopkins muscled trough. Ten minutes later Athletic were two up through Gratton.
Pumas rallied, however, and grabbed a goal back when a Starr pass was handled and Adam Godwin slotted home the resultant penalty. The lad was on fire and, cutting in off the left, smashed home an equaliser after half an hour.
Seemingly in control, with Ross, Payne and Kirby on top in midfield, Pumas looked for more goals and, when Godwin was fouled in the box, he picked himself to complete his hat-trick from the spot.
Leading 3-2 going into the second half, Pumas extended their advantage when Ross finished off some neat football.
To their credit, Athletic made changes and were back in the game when they slotted home a penalty.
The pressure started getting to the Pumas and, following a corner, Athletic equalised and a second great comeback was complete.
The game continued to flow from end to end, with Pumas sub Gillen nearly scoring and their goalkeeper, Moyle, producing the save of the game.
Pumas man of the match: Adam Godwin.
