A NEW RUNNING club has been set up in Barry and is appealing for members.
‘Barry Running Club’ meets twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm, and aims to cater for runners of all abilities.
Ashley Griffiths set up the running club with friend Nicky Palmer in the summer this year.
“Me and Nicky have trained together over the years, but when we aren’t training together we tend to be on our own,” he said.
“We decided to set up a running club and now we are getting around 20 people at each session.”
He added: “It’s friendly and welcoming and caters for all abilities. The format is usually a group run of 8- 10k on Tuesdays and intervals, speed or hill work on Thursdays.”
Over the summer the club met at Porthkerry Park and the Knap, and are now finding different places to start meeting from as the nights draw in.
