THE FUN of water sports is being spearheaded with free kayaking sessions at Cosmeston Lake, Penarth.
Multisport Wales, supported by Natural Resources Wales, has already encouraged close on 200 people to enjoy the fun of kayaking by offering free sessions with all the equipment included.
“It’s a great way to get onto the water. Kayaking offers a fabulous outdoor experience in beautiful surroundings for singles and families alike," said Maria Leijerstam, of Multisport Wales.
It doesn’t take long to master the art and, for those with a competitive spirit, there are a series of Burn events to become involved with, including two in October.
Margam Park’s Mini Burn on October 5 will be a great place to test new skills. It involves a 3k run, 10k mountain bike, 1k kayak and 2k orienteering. It is a pair and team of four event.
For those who want an even greater challenge, there is the Cardiff Burn on October 27 at Llandaff Rowing Club.
