Wenvoe Welsh Open Triples

NINE teams turned out to support the 35th Welsh Open Triples took place at the Wenvoe Arms on Sunday, August 25, on a sunny day.
With three rounds played before lunch, the top four teams entered into the Main competition and played a "round-robin", with the remaining five teams playing for the Plate.
The Main honours eventually went to Last of The Summer Wine (Karen MacLeod, Terry Lloyd and Bob Pugh, all from Wenvoe PC), with At The Bar(n) (Peter Beresford (Caerleon RFC PC), Marie and Derek Jones (The Barn PC) coming in as runner's-up.
In the Plate competition, the honours went to another Wenvoe PC Team, The Raiders (Joanie Roberts, Jeff Ball and Dave Cannan) - beating The Three Amigos (Jane and Rob Hayman and Mike Jacques, again from Wenvoe PC) by a single point.
