LOCAL golfer Wayne Blatchford, from Sully, competes in the Audi quattro UK Cup Final at the Bowood Golf and Country Club, near Calne, Wiltshire, on Thursday, September 5.
Blatchford, aged 61, partners Stuart Hale (40), from Bishopston, Bristol, in the one-day, 18-hole stableford rules competition.
Thirty-six amateur golfers contest the UK final, bidding for the national title, while the top two pairs go on to represent Great Britain in the Audi quattro World Cup Final at the Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles (October 7-11).
Individually, Blatchford finished sixth in the Mon Motors Group Audi Manor House GC event before teaming up with Hale to claim first place in a regional final at the St Pierre GC.
The Audi quattro Cup, being staged for the 23rd year, is the world’s largest amateur golf competition with almost 80,000 players from over 50 countries competing for a place in the week-long world final.
