Rhoose let loose with pace, flair and style

RHOOSE FC U14s 5 COWBRIDGE B 2

RHOOSE started the game at a high tempo and were soon on the attack.

Daniel Cope made a darting run down the wing to set up Josh Brown whose first-time effort was well saved by the Cowbridge keeper and then Jay Coles found himself in space outside the box and his superb strike found the top corner to give Rhoose the lead. Cowbridge created a number of chances but Dylan White and Ryan Hughes were solid in defence, making several last ditch tackles. Rhoose increased their lead when Cameron Leach dribbled his way through a number of challenges before curling the ball around the oncoming keeper. In the second half, Matt Cottington used his blistering pace to get in behind the Cowbridge defence and score with a powerful strike. Cowbridge pegged one back with a well worked move from a free kick, while Rhoose's Lee Bartlett was unlucky when his volley was blocked on the line.

Edward Thomas had a terrific game in defence with great positional play to reduce the number of Cowbridge attacks. Michael Wilson played an intricate through ball into the path of Patrick O’Carroll whose long range effort was brilliantly saved by the Cowbridge keeper but Leach followed in and managed to steer the ball home for his hat-trick. Harry Morgan-Grant was called into action on several occasions in the Rhoose goal and tipped several strikes around the post. Cowbridge ended the game with another well deserved goal.
