Barry Saints back in action after lay-off

CFB FC 2 BARRY SAINTS 4

AFTER a long lay off because of the weather, Barry Saints returned to action with a hard fought win over CFB FC. The game started with an early dive in the box by the opposing team who were awarded a penalty which Tom was unlucky not to save. But the Saints soon woke up and started to work with the ball and were rewarded with a penalty up the other end. Up stepped Zach to calmly slot it home.

With the Saints' back four starting to show their class, the home side found it hard going and it was no surprise when Zach notched his second after great linking work from Joey and Berto. Josh Griffiths was having a right tussle with the home right wing at the back and, after a bit of handbags, the home side subbed their man. Great play by the Saints brought another penalty after the home keeper looked like he had made a great save and Zach stepped up to slot home his hat-trick. However, CFB never gave up and their hard work was rewarded with a second goal.

Both teams were down to 10 men after Saints' James Cooke was sent off for retaliation, with manager Long bringing on 'King' Shane who set up a 35-yard screamer to seal the 4-2 win. The win puts Saints second in the league with a game in hand over the team at the top.

Saints: Tom, Olli, Josh, Aimar, Berto, Sion, Zach, Drew, Basher, James, Joey, Shane, Nicky, Phill and Bo.
