Rhoose advance in cup quest
9:40am Thursday 25th October 2012 in Sport
RHOOSE (U14) 3 COGAN B 1
RHOOSE were looking to progress in the cup but knew it would be tough as they only had 10 fit players.
Injured Harry Morgan-Grant played in goal and had an outstanding game. Rhoose’s usual keeper, Matt Cottington, played out for the first time this season and found himself on the end of a cross by Jay Coles and his well hit strike gave his side the lead.
Rhoose looked to attack at every opportunity and Daniel Cope was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet following some good build up play involving Josh Brown. Striker Cameron Leach doubled the advantage for Rhoose when his strike nestled in the bottom corner.
Cogan looked sharp on the counter attack and were rewarded with a well worked goal. Dylan Webb, Ryan Hughes and Patrick O’Carroll were solid in the heart of defence and linked up well with the midfield. Michael Wilson worked the flanks throughout the game and made some excellent crosses. Lee Bartlett made some terrific challenges and it was his cross field pass which set up Leach to score his second of the game.
