Scout post returns

THIS year's Christmas scout post stamps are available now at a variety of shops in Barry.

The price of each stamp is just 16p - a considerable saving on the cost of posting greeting cards to loved ones.

The scout post raises significant funds for scouting in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Every year, the 1st Barry Sea Scout Group organises the sale of stamps, the collection, sorting and delivery of: l 110,000 Christmas cards; l exchanging 462kg of mail with Cardiff groups; l 61 rounds of mail.

The latest opportunity to post your cards will be on Monday, December 4, and it will be delivered from Sunday, December 10.

Stamps can be purchased and cards can be posted at the following outlets: Stitchcraft Wool Shop on Park Crescent; Crescent Corner Stores on Park Crescent; Porthkerry Stores on Park Road; Premier on High Street; Ruckley's on Holton Road; Monmouthsire Building Society on Holton Road; SR Bailey Ltd Pharmacy on Vere Street, Cadoxton; Roy's Toys on Main Street, Cadoxton; Coldbrook Stores on Coldbrook Road East; Barry Community Hospital; C Break on Lakeside, Cold Knap; Cwm Talwg Londis on Plas Cleddau; Spar on Buttrills Road; Salem Church on Beryl Road; Porthkerry Road Methodist Church; Windsor Road Methodist Church; Londis on Ivor Street, Barry Island; General Stores on Dockview; Lloyds Pharmacy on Holton Road; Costcutter on Merthyr Dyfan Road; DOP's on Dockview Road; The Paper Shop on Plymouth Road, Barry Island; Cross Street Stores on Cross Street; Photoden on Holton Road and Hair Flair on Maesycwm Street.
