Be patient
7:00am Thursday 18th October 2012 in Letters
IN response to the recent articles and letters in the press, I would like to assure residents that the Labour Group in the Vale of Glamorgan are continuing with the process of drawing up a new draft Local Deposit Plan (LDP) to be put out for consultation to the public and interested parties, and a full announcement will be made in around two weeks time.
It was clear that the plan put out by the Conservative Council at the beginning of the year was flawed and not acceptable to the majority of residents. From speaking to people, the consultation process was inadequate with most individuals not knowing about the existence of the plan and what building was being proposed on their doorstep. Also anyone who attempted to give feedback during the consultation was confronted by complicated forms and technical terminology.
Labour intend to produce a plan that has been properly thought through and goes out for full consultation with the residents of the Vale of Glamorgan, and I ask people to please be patient and not believe scaremongering. The LDP is a very important document that sets out the plans for the Vale for the next 15 years, not only for housing but for industry and our infrastructure too, and we don’t want to rush the process and get it wrong.
