WE’D like to thank everyone that held a Blooming Great Tea Party for Marie Curie Cancer Care this summer.

Despite the horrible weather, it didn’t dampen spirits and more than 50 tea parties were held in South East Wales, raising an amazing £22,000 for the charity. Tea parties ranged from small gatherings of friends in their homes and gardens to full-blown events like our zumba tea party which was held in St Augustine’s church hall in Penarth.

Everyone’s efforts were amazing and the money raised will help Marie Curie to provide extra nursing care to terminally ill people, within our local Marie Curie Hospice, Penarth, and in patients’ own homes throughout South East Wales.

We are now in the process of forming new fundraising groups in the Cardiff area, Pontypridd, Merthyr Tydfil and Brecon. We are looking for people who’d like to join our local groups to help raise awareness and money through a variety of activities like our Blooming Great Tea Parties in the summer, Christmas collections, The Great Daffodil Appeal collections in February and March as well as being able to organise their own events throughout the year.
