I WRITE with reference to Brian Morris’s letter (Barry & District News, August 11).

It is obvious to me that Brian is not up to speed with his local politics. He will find that if he cares to check the minutes of the Budget full council meeting held on February 28, I actually voted for the amendment that was proposed by Cllr Stuart Egan (Labour) that was against the Tory increase in council tax and cuts.

I have never supported or voted for any Tory policy and perhaps if Brian had lived in Barry a little longer than two or more years, when he moved down from London, he would have had the opportunity to get to know me and my politics a lot more, which is far removed from that of the Tories.

Furthermore, perhaps if Brian had taken the trouble to run his letter past the leader of the Labour group, he would have been advised that his facts are incorrect.
