WHILST I welcome transparency and debate about MPs’ expenses, there were a number of inaccuracies in the article last week (June 25).

It said I claimed £11260.66 on mortgage payments over two months in 2007. This is not true as I do not have a mortgage for a second home.

It also implied that my overall parliamentary expenses at £148,514 were the highest in 2007/08.

They were not. In fact, my allowances ranking for that year was 296th.
