LAST week, Labour councillors voted for yet another council tax rise in April which will see residents’ bills rising once again.
Since 2012, the Labour-run Vale of Glamorgan Council has cost the average Barry household £585 in cumulative council tax hikes.
If that wasn’t bad enough, bus services remain in decline and we have yet to receive assurances from the council that they won’t move towards monthly bin collections here as they have in many other Labour councils across Wales.
Inflation is at around zero per cent so it’s pretty hard to justify being forced to pay more every year.
We need a council that can achieve more for Barry residents without passing on the bill to the taxpayer.
Five more years with Labour in charge would hit residents in the pocket.
If we are fortunate enough to be elected you can rest assured that we would join Conservative colleagues in fighting tooth and nail to keep council tax bills down.
