Loneliness despair
Doesn’t anyone care
Please help me I pray
As I face another day
Isolation and hurt
But I am looked at like dirt
Not many are at ease
With this non-contagious disease
My illness is blind
So I am left behind
I don’t have cancer
So I must be an attention-seeking chancer
Next time you choose to ignore
Please notice me I applaud
A kind word for a person with a broken mind
Is more precious than gold
For my illness is real and I do feel. Have you guessed who I am, I am someone who cares for and lives with someone with a mental health condition and there is still a lot of single-minded ignorance that surrounds the whole aspect of mental illness.
