I NOTED the comments from various people whom I have spoken to, my daughter included, and there was very high praise for the recent skate in the park at Central Park, Barry.

For the few days it was here, several hundred people were able to enjoy falling over on their backsides.

However, now it’s gone we had something now it’s back to we have nothing.

It really is a crime that we here in Barry, being a seaside town, have no cinema, no outdoor swimming pool, or come to that we have nothing of nothing. We don’t even have Christmas lights running down Holton Road.

If you go to the very tiny hub village of Tongwynlais they have wonderful lights strewn across the buildings, we have nothing.

The Barry Council and Vale Council should hang their heads in shame., it’s all down to various councils over the years whom together have helped to destroy this town with their skinflint policies

We could have a fantastic leisure complex on our land at Nells Point which would bring money into the Vale, why on earth should we have to go to Cardiff to the cinema, or ice skate, or ten pin bowling when all this could be here in our town.

Yes I know it costs money, money councillors can find if they want something, if we had this sort of entertainment the people would come.

It’s a shame we had something now we have nothing.
